Welcome to the website of 2403(Aldermaston) Squadron, Air Training Corps.
If you are currently a member of the Squadron then I hope you will find the site
useful and informative. If you are looking for an ATC Squadron then we hope it
will recommend us to you.
2403 has been in the Tadley and Aldermaston area since 1963.
Activities range from Flying, Shooting, Sports, Academic training for the BTEC
in Aviation Studies to Outdoor Pursuits such as Hill walking . The opportunity
exists for cadets over 16 to fly a motor glider solo after the requisite
training and therefore “fly before you can drive” The Training Syllabus is based
around “The Duke Of Edinburgh Award Scheme” and cadets are encouraged to
participate in the scheme at all levels.
The ATC Motto is “Venture Adventure” and the aims of the Air Training Corps are:
1) To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation
and the Royal Air Force;
2) To provide training which will be useful whether in service or civilian life;
3) To foster the spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of leadership
and good citizenship;
Which we feel we fulfil to the limit.
There is no obligation to join the Royal Air Force but many Air Cadets do go on
to do so, finding their ATC training useful during their Basic Service Training.
